This particular update favors editors by eliminating all unnecessary interface elements that are irrelevant to them. Apart from editors, writers can access this mode as well.
In this Distraction Free Writing Mode, it provides editors with some beneficial features and allows writers to focus on writing without any distractions. Moreover, the users can customize this mode by only including the tools relevant to them, making it more efficient.
- New site editor interface
This new update makes it easier to manage websites and includes a sidebar navigation that displays relevant editing tools all in one place. Not only that, but the sidebar also includes a global context bar that shows important information about the current page or post.
These details tell you about the title of the post or page, its permalink, or its author. Along with that, this new interface feature includes a revamped status bar that provides additional details like posts that are edited, word count, publishing status, reading time and more.
- Block Inserter
To make it easier to navigate, the updated block inserter offers new categories for different types of blocks, like formatting blocks, common blocks, additional widgets, and layout elements.
The Block Inserter makes it easier to find and use blocks; it also includes a “recently used” tab that allows the users to easily find and use the blocks that they use often by displaying them in the “recently used” section.
Furthermore, to add more blocks to their content, the Block Inserter shows block suggestions as users’ type, making it easier to discover.
What else is new?
- To make it easier to edit block settings, the new Tabbed Block Inspector offers three tabs: Advanced, Blocks, and Styles. This Block tab includes all block settings, letting the user change the alignment, text color, and more.
- Document Details and List View in Block Editor makes viewing and editing content clutter-free and easier, while the combined panel also displays the document details.
- Blocks, template parts, and reusable blocks are now colorized, making it easier to identify essential blocks and manage them effectively.
